Gibum worked in chemistry and bioscience for approximately 25 years. He was a research staff in Korea Electric Power Research Institution (KEPRI) for 7 years since 1993, leading the research project management of external participants.
He also worked as a scientist to Lumera Corporation and Beckman Coulter contributing to development of innovative technologies such as clinical diagnostic testing and microfluidics. In 2012, he founded Plexense, Inc. – a firm specialized in the development and production of immunoassay platform for clinical, food and life sciences.
Gibum earned a Master’s degree in analytical chemistry from Korea University in 1993 and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Texas A&M University.
